Summary

Adapted from Elizabeth Bowen's novel of the same name, The Last September reveals how family secrets affect life on a country estate in strife-torn 1920s Ireland. Sir Richard Naylor (Michael Gambon) and Lady Myra (Maggie Smith) play host to an odd assortment of family and friends, and their attendant traumas. When one more guest -- Lady Myra's childhood friend Marda Norton (Fiona Shaw) -- is added to the mix, an emotional fuse gets lit.
