Summary

A hack 1920s playwright (John Cusack) uses a mobster to finance his newest play. But when the gangster's bodyguard (Chazz Palminteri) starts rewriting the play to make it more believable, he shows more talent than the play's original author. Dianne Wiest steals the show as a haughty actress in this light-as-air period comedy, which ranks as one of Woody Allen's best films. Jim Broadbent, Mary-Louise Parker and Jennifer Tilly co-star.
